Stickers and point charts are not age appropriate for [2nd Grade] children. They are well past that. We do not give extraordinary rewards to students for ordinary behavior. That is what happens when you are trying to shape behavior of a child who is being toilet trained…but not to a student who is sitting down and getting to work. This is not what we do with students at this school, especially at this age. Again, they are asking us to reward behavior that is entirely normal and expected of all other children. School is nothing but impulse control for children all day, so why do we go out of our way to reward what is expected and in fact executed by all children each day?”
